I went in expecting real, authentic, high quality German food, especially since I ordered an assortment of different meats with the hope of experiencing a variety of rich flavors and traditional preparation, but the meal ended up being a letdown. Unfortunately, the meat was dry and tasteless, lacking the seasoning and juiciness that I associate with proper German-style cooking. Instead of enjoying each cut and savoring something memorable, the dishes blended together into a forgettable experience that failed to stand out in any meaningful way. What surprised me most was that, despite ordering a platter meant to showcase the best of the menu, all I can clearly remember from the entire meal was the pretzel, which was easily the highlight of the table. The pretzel had good texture and flavor, but it felt disappointing that a simple bread item overshadowed the main dishes that were supposed to be the focus. I had genuinely been looking forward to something hearty and satisfying, with bold flavors and well-prepared meats that reflected true German cuisine. Instead, the overall impression was that the food lacked character and depth, making the meal feel more like a missed opportunity than a culinary experience. Because of this, I left feeling a bit disappointed, especially given the expectations I had walking in. With better seasoning, improved cooking methods, and more attention to flavor, this place could live up to the promise of authentic German food, but on this visit, it fell short of what I was hoping for.
