Oma's German Delicacies⠀ German Cuisine Restaurant⠀ ⠀ Oma-God! Oh My God! Bumped into this authentic German cuisine restaurant based on the recommendation of German friends in Taipei. Located very near to exit 2 of MRT Taipower Building, this small and humble German restaurant offers very authentic flavor cuisine and healthy range of German bread too. What surprised me is the total number of crowd even before the actual lunch hour - Totally packed with customers, and sweat not, you’ll get your orders delivered pretty fast to your table too.⠀ ⠀ I’ll be honest - I always have the impression that German cuisine is all about sausages, pork knuckles and beers. Was right 2 out of 3 when I tried this restaurant, and what surprised me is the bakery part of it. Lots of healthy breads and that’s one of the main superstars of this franchise (there’s Oma German Bakery couple of shops away, and you’ll get to see inside my video too).⠀ ⠀ Ordered 「香烤巴伐利亞啤酒豬腳」 Pork Knuckle with sauerkraut, fried potatoes, and vinegared red cabbage - Mind blown x1. The pork knuckle is definitely a must-pick. The outer layer is baked to total crisp, and extremely crunchy when you have a bit on it. The meat is tender, and perfect to bite on, even with or without the mustard sauce. First time tasted sauerkraut (fermented raw cabbage) and I like it. When you combine the meat, sauerkraut, vinegared red cabbage and the mustard sauce and take a bite of it - all the flavors come together and blends perfectly well.⠀ ⠀ Ordered 「德國總匯時蔬紅酒燉牛肉」 - Beef goulash with spaetzle noodle and roaster vegetables - Mind blown x2. First would be the tenderness of the stewed beef. Amazingly stewed to perfection, the meat totally glides through your teeth when you take a bite. Second is the spaetzle noodle (pasta made with eggs) - you may thought it’s oily, but somehow it pairs nicely with the beef and the sauce too.⠀ ⠀ And whenever you’re in German restaurant, don’t forget to order German beer. It make the awesomeness even more awesome.⠀ ⠀ Meal type: Lunch Price per person: NT$600–800 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
