The price is a little steep. Maybe most value for money is the ban mian - at least there is more vegetables there, with sufficient protein and carbs. Ordered nasi lemak the last time I'm there - the chicken wing is nice but not nice enough to cost $7++, portion is small, the paper which they put the rice on is too thin and breaks easily. I like the taste of the sambal but I hate that I don't see much sambal after removing the onions in there - the point of the sambal is the chilli, not the onions! For someone who doesn't take onions, it's really frustrating. I went there when it is not too crowded then, but the space bounds off noisy v well and you can literally hear every words the customers from the diagonal table is saying. Went there before when it was crowded and the experience is not great - but at least because everyone is speaking and it's just too noisy, you won't feel like you are forced to eavedrop on people. Yet to try out their toast set - not sure if the taste. Would probably go there for tea in the future, main meals are not really value for money, and just doesn't entice me enough to be willing to spend the money. Drinks wise - if it's before 2pm, I rather take a less than 5min walk to the nearby hawker centre to get drinks there. Unless I need an aircon place to hang out w a friend over tea. Can feel the potential of this cafe but not seeing it - hope to see new main meals options with more vegetables in the future, or simple bee hoon set where we can order alacarte dishes. One more thing - some of the seats are too low for the tables. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: SGD 10–20 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Vegetarian options: Nil such options for mains, if you customised to make it vegetarian - it's a waste of your money.

The kaya toast was fragrant but not so amazing until need to come down for it. But what is really nice is the laksa! Super yummy and fresh cockles. The nasilemak was nice but the fried chicken was mid. Overall good experience except that space is really small and movement was hard Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Really worth a visit Dong Sheng Cafe at Ang Mo Kio. The Dirty Coffee is a must-try — the iced milk foam is thick and smooth, rich but not overly sweet. The kaya butter toast is crispy outside and soft inside, perfect with the half-boiled eggs. Their laksa and ban mian are also very satisfying with a rich, comforting flavour. Prices are very reasonable, around $8–$10 per person, and the air-conditioned space makes it a nice spot to sit and enjoy a relaxed meal. No wonder there’s always a queue!
