Wow! After trying more than a few highly rated fish and chips in Singapore, this is the only one that is A. Very good B. British in style Smiths at Balmoral is the most British but the fish itself cannot compare to what is served here. We had both the Haddock and the Halibut and both were outstanding. The curry sauce was bang on and the mushy peas were delicious. Only the chips were not quite British enough. But you can't blame them as the average Singaporean cannot accept the typical British Chippie Chip. Those are much fatter and a bit softer and mushy in the centre. But these were very good chips. Just not fat enough to be called typically British. Our gold standard for a proper British Fish and Chips in Singapore! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: SGD 20–30

Rarely have great things to say about restaurants nowadays but I was really impressed with the food here, the service, and the non-exorbitant prices. Our meal was kept under $60 with 3 items. Aunty really nicely started us off with recommendations from the menu to help us know what’s popular. All the items we ordered were delicious, maybe just the Mac n cheese could do with more seasoning. The Barramundi fish and chips was soooo sooo good!!! The homemade curry sauce introduced a different flavour. Loved the corn ribs too! Not hard and seasoned well. What I’m most impressed with is how they provided gloves and had the lemon in a mesh bag. It was a wonderful evening for us! We had the prawns, fish and chips and Mafalda White Bolognese! Very tasty! Staff was also very friendly and to explain our items to us. Food was served fast too and the ice lemon tea was very refreshing! The lemon in a muslin was such an ingenious idea! Kent was very friendly with us too!
