こちらで食事しようと思いましたが、衛生環境が最悪です… 調理されている方は地面に落ちた物を拾っても手を洗わずに調理再開され、調理される物も地面に直置きだったと思います… 旅行で健康を損ねては元も子もないので、個人的にはなしです…

I visited Fuhong Beef Noodles around 11:30 PM alone during my trip to Taiwan. I’m a tourist and I cannot read Chinese, but I can speak and communicate basic Chinese quite confidently. When the lady taking orders asked what I wanted, I politely asked what they had on the menu. She pointed at the huge menu board on the wall, which was completely in Chinese with no English at all. Then she loudly said something like “Can’t you read?” in a sarcastic tone. I replied that I couldn’t read Chinese because I’m not from here. After that, she completely ignored me and refused to take my order. She asked me to wait while continuing to serve other customers who came in after me. I ended up taking a photo of the menu and using translation on my phone just to understand what they were selling. Eventually, another older lady took my order. I pointed at the item I wanted — beef noodles with beef organs — and she responded in a rude tone like “This one, this one!” Yes, that was exactly what I was trying to order. When my food arrived, the first lady came to collect payment. I asked if they had drinks or water because I wanted to order something to drink too. She completely ignored my question and only charged me for the noodles, acting like I wasn’t even speaking. At that point I just gave up ordering a drink. As for the food, the beef organs smelled very bad and tasted like they were not cleaned properly. The noodles were thick and not my preference at all. Before leaving, I told the person cooking at the front about what happened with the staff member. He gave me a very casual apology without much concern. The funny thing is — the restaurant actually DOES have an English menu. The staff member simply could not be bothered to give it to me. This was honestly the worst dining experience of my Taiwan trip. Most Taiwanese people I met were incredibly kind and friendly, except for this place. Definitely not coming back.
