Finally trying out the super popular Gunkee Claypot where long queues are evident daily. Booked a room for 10pax about 1 week before and was very lucky to secure 1 as it was a Saturday evening. We were given PDR V888. Room located on 2nd floor, comes equipped with a KTV system while having meal with a small top up depending the duration of room use. It was a $30 fee for the extension of 1.5hrs with the KTV system use as our dining time exceeded the 1st 1.5hrs. Yes we were there for 3hrs due to late joiners. Extension was subjected to availability as well. We ordered quite a number of dishes, probably about 70% of the menu? Pictures uploaded, do view for your reference. We all enjoyed many of the dishes with some being slightly saltish. My choice favourites would be the braised pork, the signature pork broth and the prawn balls in vermicelli. Loved the ice lemon tea too which was served in a 1L jug. Great for sharing. Definitely going to return. Recommended make reservations, avoid waiting outside the restaurant Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $40–50

Saw the hype on this restaurant and its long queue for longest time and finally get to try. We went on Sat at 430pm, luckily, the queue was not there yet and we got a table fast. Disappointed didnt manage to try the torched cheesecake as it was sold out at lunch. Also didnt manage to try to signature lotus soup because we have too much other food we want to order. The 酸菜鱼 was a must order for us everywhere we go. And rarely can restaurants do it well. GUN Kee did it well. The fish slices were expertly cut to same thickness and it did not fall apart. Fish meat was tender and the soup was flavourful and pleasant to drink. Love the tang hoon in it, too bad there was no option to top up tang hoon. The soup went cold fast. Suggest they should put in claypot to keep warm. The soup tasted a little fishy when cold. The you mai in claypot was a gimmick. Didn't taste exceptionally nice except the charred flavour. The frog legs were fresh and tender. The sauce was very delicious and good well with rice. We loved the la zi ji. Crispy and well seasoned. We ended up ordered twice. The 土豆丝 was a disappointment. Tasted sweet rather than savoury. Self service water, sauces, tea and 凉粉 for all customers. Would love to visit to try the other dishes but would not choose peak hours. Parking is difficult because not much places to park around there. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
