I decided to try Ga-Hock Seafood because of all the hype, but it unfortunately fell way short of expectations. The service was incredibly slow and the staff were not attentive at all. To make matters worse, the pacing of the meal was completely off, with our dishes being served roughly 10 to 15 minutes apart from each other. As for the food, it was average at best. We specifically ordered their well-known chili crab, but the sauce was a total disappointment and a complete "no-go" for me. Given the poor service and underwhelming food, I definitely wouldn't want to come back here again. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: SGD 30–40

This place needs no introduction to people living around the area. Went on a Sunday evening and ordered a 1.5kg black pepper crab that costs $134. Accompanied with other stuff (claypot seafood $40, 2 veg dishes that costs $10 each). Decent meal, crab was extremely fresh and meaty. Perhaps the atmosphere may not appeal to everyone- think eating in a 80s setting coffeeshop next to a long kang. Would definitely return, mainly for the fleshy crabs! Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
