We stopped by Ginkyō on a Friday night without a reservation. Despite the restaurant being packed, we were fortunate enough to get seated right at the sushi bar counter. The atmosphere is wonderful, it feels calm and fancy, making for a great dining experience. We really enjoyed the food. The Salmon Mango Salsa tacos were a definite highlight, and we were particularly impressed by the "Rock & Roll" section. Both the Californication and the AC/DC Dynamite were awesome. Overall, a fantastic spot for Japanese fusion. We will definitely be back! Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Was quite interested in patronising this restaurant for quite awhile, so when the chance came to celebrate my beloved friend’s birthday here, I was elated & excited. They serve quite a number of dishes & I enjoyed that they also serve hotate sashimi, which is pretty uncommon. Absolutely enjoyed the food but we were so stuffed, we didn’t have the chance to try the mains (it’s included in the buffet but limited to one dish per pax). Also love that they have an option to add on free flow alcohol as well (wine & beer). Definitely recommend! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: SGD 100+ Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Has been a fan of Ginkyo for awhile and has been to their brunch at least on four occasions. Was informed there was a new menu starting yesterday when we arrived and noticed. All the iconic dishes that my wife and I loved are gone - Swordfish Ceviche, both Tacos, Unagi Claypot. In place, you see the jellyfish that is served at every wedding starter, onsen tamago, century egg tofu. The mikan market fish has been swapped for Salmon. New mains include a curry udon that one can cook easily at home ourselves. Tori-Oyako tasted like any Oyako don everywhere but because it doesnt come with rice, it was way salty. Amela tomato on the miso toast that my wife LOVED, its replaced with the more common sundried tomato. Had beef cube previously? Its now cottage pie :/ Loved their panna cota, warabi mochi or beautiful fried banana in the past? Now you get to choose 3 flavors of ice creams to choose from. Price remains the same but ingredients have been cheapened out with poor substitutes. It used to be a 5 star experience but no longer. If the kitchen finds it challenging to handle the complexity of vast number of dishes, we understand but the price should corespondingly be reduced. Now we just feel shortchanged.
