HEA is a fun little place on Boundary Street in Sham Shui Po that specialises in vegan-friendly, ice cream. They have indoor seating as well as some seats just outside their shop and are open from 2pm to 9pm (TU,W & TH), 1.30pm to 10.30pm (F, ST & SN) and are closed on Mondays. Ordering is simple. They will show you an order card from which you choose from four locally popular flavours. On the day they had matcha, tofu, red bean and mango pomelo. These are milk free and vegan friendly servings in a cone. I tried the tofu which tasted very much like soya milk. The ice-cream texture was fairly soft and smooth. You can add a small iced-lolly (+HK$8). I tried their coconut flavour. It worked very well with the tofu flavoured ice-cream. Overall, this is a good ice-cream shop and a fun way to support a local business. There are many dessert shops around Sham Shui Po serving up cake slices and the likes but little in form of good and proper ice-cream. I liked what I tried at HEA and look forward to returning for another tofu cone and to try their other flavours.
