My favorite shabu restaurant—delicious, great-quality ingredients, and excellent service. They even offer free nail care, free desserts, and free snacks. The pickled mustard greens soup is sooo delicious! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

HaidilaoFamous Chinese hotpot with Mala. Variety of menu especially the beef menu. Shrimp and prawn are nice. Desserts on the other hand is quite disappointing. The soup tastes are a little bit plain for me tho which cannot be compared to the main competitor out there. One main highlight is the soft dancing noodle which people like to take a snapshot of and post on social media. IMO, sitting down here for Mala hotpot is just for services. That’s all it takes. I went to Hidilao hot pot to celebrate my son’s birthday. We reached the restaurant around 9:15–9:30 PM, and I wouldn’t really recommend going that late because the food choices become limited. At that time, you can’t fully enjoy the combo options and are mostly required to order à la carte, which makes it a bit more expensive. That said, since we were with kids who eat less, it was still manageable. The prices are slightly on the higher side, but for a birthday celebration, I feel it’s acceptable. What I really liked was the birthday experience—they played a birthday song at our table, gave a small gift, and even provided extra toys for kids, which was a nice touch. The restaurant has a lot of seating space, and the staff are cooperative. Even though the place was quite busy, they tried their best to make us comfortable. The food itself was delicious. The concept is interesting—you build your own meal. You can choose from 4–5 types of soup bases, including spicy options, and you can select up to four soups. You also get to make your own dipping sauces, which adds to the experience. There are some unlimited items like small sponge cakes, ice cream, rice, and a few sides such as salads, mushrooms, and kimchi-style items. For premium items like beef, the pricing depends on the portion (half or full), and the most expensive option was around 750 baht (as far as I remember). Overall, I’d recommend going earlier in the evening and choosing a combo to get better value. Despite the higher price, the food, service, and birthday experience made it a good visit for us.
