I visited Hanilkwan during my time in Seoul, specifically looking to try a good bulgogi, and overall it was a very solid experience. The food quality is excellent — I would easily rate it 5/5. The banchan were well executed and flavorful, and everything felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The standout for me, however, was the octopus dish — perfectly cooked, tender, and with a great balance of spice and texture. Definitely the highlight of the meal. As for the bulgogi, it was good, but not the best I had during my trip. It was well prepared and enjoyable, just not particularly memorable compared to other places in Seoul. Service was also outstanding (5/5). Attentive, efficient, and very professional throughout the entire experience. The only area that didn’t fully match the rest was the atmosphere (3/5). The space feels more functional than special, and lacks a bit of character compared to other dining experiences in the city. Overall, I’d rate it 4/5. A great place for high-quality traditional Korean food with excellent service, even if the ambiance is a bit underwhelming.
