I wanted to order a breakfast item and requested to change how the eggs are cooked (sous vide to scrambled), but the server told me unapologetically that they can’t do that. It’s a pretty standard request which 9/10 cafes would happily oblige, but since it’s their prerogative so fine. Since I can’t swap the eggs, I decided to order the toasts and scrambled eggs ala carte. When the dish came, I requested for butter, because the toasts does not come with any kind of spread. The server then tell me that it’s extra charge for butter because it’s French butter. I don’t care what butter it is, that’s beside the point, but they seem to think it’s reasonable to serve their customers dry toasts. When I gave them the feedback, they just repeated that because it’s French butter, so they need to charge me extra, for an item that normally comes with toasts at any cafe. Scrambled eggs were also the worst I’ve ever eaten in my life. All you can taste is the oil they used (maybe French butter is too expensive to cook with) to cook the eggs and huge grains of salt. Never once did they say sorry during the whole exchange when they can see that a customer is obviously unhappy.
The whole experience was horrible. Fame seems to have gone their head. Plenty of nice coffee shops with good coffee and good service around and I would recommend you give the place a miss unless you want your morning coffee ruined.
