We had a fantastic omakase experience at Hono Omakase. The quality of the ingredients was excellent throughout the meal, with every course beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, the otoro was rich and buttery, and the uni was one of the highlight. What truly sets this place apart, however, is Chef Kev himself. He is highly engaging, personable, and entertaining. Unlike some omakase experiences where the chef remains quiet throughout the meal, Chef Kev actively interacts with guests, explains the ingredients and preparation methods, shares jokes, and keeps the atmosphere lively and enjoyable. One memorable moment was when he served us a generous portion of uni directly onto our hands, creating a fun and interactive dining experience that everyone at the counter enjoyed. The pacing of the meal was excellent, allowing us to fully appreciate each course without feeling rushed. Watching Chef Kev prepare each dish right in front of us also added a special touch to the overall experience. As we were celebrating a birthday, the team also prepared a thoughtful birthday dessert presentation, which was a lovely surprise and made the day even more memorable. Great food, great hospitality, and a genuinely enjoyable atmosphere. If you’re looking for an omakase experience that combines premium ingredients with a warm and engaging chef, Hono Omakase is definitely worth a visit. Had a really great time at Honō 焱 Omakase. The whole experience felt very smooth and well thought out, without being too formal or stiff. You can tell the chef really cares about the ingredients—everything tasted fresh and clean, and nothing felt overdone. The sashimi was definitely a highlight, super fresh and nicely balanced. I also really enjoyed the grilled dishes—they had a light smoky flavor that added depth but didn’t overpower the fish. Portion-wise it was just right, and the pacing of the meal felt comfortable from start to finish. Service was friendly and attentive, and the chef would occasionally explain the dishes, which made the experience more engaging without feeling like a lecture. The setting itself is cozy and perfect if you just want to enjoy a proper omakase without distractions. Overall, it’s a solid spot for omakase in Singapore, especially for the price.
