Have visited HunBun twice now and I must say that they do make really fantastic sandwiches! I have tried the Big Beef Theory and the limited edition Tropic Like It’s Hot, and they were both fantastic — both definitely remind me of my favourite sandwich shops from my college days in the US. I tried the latter at my most recent visit, so I remember it a little better: the fried chicken was juicy, the spice provided a good kick, the homemade pineapple jam was incredibly tasty, and all the flavours really worked really well together. I also had the also limited edition Caulifornia Dreamin’ — fried cauliflower bites that were a great accompaniment to the sandwich. The owners are really friendly, and it was nice that they remembered me from my first visit! I am definitely excited to pop by again to try out more of their regular menu, and would recommend HunBun to anyone looking for fresh and delicious sandwiches! Sandwiches are super steady — packed to the brim with stuffing, generous portion sizes, with complimenting side kicks to balance out the flavours. My favourite was the chicken-mayo thingy with egg and spinach. Tender chicken hugged by a soft bun. Don’t belittle the sides too. The fried broccoli is especially addictive. Family friendly location also. “Traditional” elders can get “traditional” foodstuffs with a cai fan stall or duck rice stall just beside. Very inclusive. Have been visiting HunBun since they opened and it’s always a delight tucking into their sangas! Not only are the portions very generous, every bite is wholesome goodness because everything is lovingly made in-house. The seasonal sandwiches are always a must-try because so much thought and creativity have gone into designing the flavour profiles. Thinking of my next visit already!
