Had some time kill before next appointment nearby so stopped by to check out Cuppage Plaza. Was @ Isle Cafe (Cuppage), a no-frills, air-conditioned coffeeshop that serves a diverse food fare, from munchies, staples, beverages to fruits and desserts. There are ample seats in the two dining areas diagonally across each other. Based on the price I paid for a small cup of hot tea (SGD1.40) and 2 small puffs (sardine and curry for SGD1.00), it may well be the most budget dining option in Orchard Road district! Probably even lower priced than some local food centres and coffeeshops! Customers keep streaming in throughout my visit on a Saturday, believe it gets very busy and packed on weekdays at mealtime. Both the tea and puffs were decent. I'd consider this old school coffeeshop - offering affordable quick F&B, efficient service, cool environment (strong A/C) and nice local vibes - a gem in a prime location! Can consider giving it a shot if you're in this area, however do refrain from expecting a café-like ambience.
