Hidden away in the rather inconspicuous corridors of Orchard Plaza, @junryo_orchard is an intimate 8-seater sushi restaurant that’s easy to miss but well worth seeking out. The spotlight here goes to their signature double-stacked sushi, featuring combinations like Aburi Otoro with Hotate and Aburi Otoro with Aka Ebi. With thick, generous cuts of fish layered atop one another, each bite feels indulgent yet surprisingly balanced. The lightly torched otoro adds a rich buttery smokiness that pairs beautifully with the sweetness of the scallop and prawn. Another favourite was the Salmon Hotate Mentai - a flavour bomb of creamy mentai, fresh thick cut salmon that delivered plenty of satisfaction in a single bite. Sushi starts from just $1 for options like Tamago and Inari, while favourites such as the Aburi Salmon Mentai come in at $5. Premium cuts like Chutoro are priced at $9, and the signature double-stacked creations go for $10-$11. Refer to the last slide for the menu! Great value sushi bar, brings me back to Japan. It’s a small 8 seater which is nice and cozy similarly to those in Japan. Quality is definitely worth with decent selection of popular fish/seafood. Do order sake as well and pair it with apple juice(recommend by chef) goes really well with the sushi. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
