Reservation was made on 25 February for 2 March, yet our table for two was placed right outside a private dining room, squeezed between the entrance and a table of ten. It was an awkward and uncomfortable setting, with constant movement around us. This arrangement is not even present during normal periods, which made it feel completely out of place. When I asked why we were given such a spot, I was told the restaurant was fully booked. However, I made my reservation five days in advance — not the day before. It is difficult to accept being placed in such an unsuitable location simply to maximise seating capacity. If the restaurant was truly at full capacity, it would have been more appropriate to decline the reservation rather than accommodate us in a makeshift space. During Chinese New Year, service standards should be upheld — not compromised in an attempt to increase revenue. In addition, plain water or tea was charged at $5 per person, which is significantly higher than what many other restaurants charge. This pricing is unreasonable. Despite being a long-time customer for years, this experience has been deeply disappointing and unacceptable. Regrettably, this will be my last visit to the restaurant. Suitable for casual fam dinner. Had their veg, fish and duck too which were all fresh and yummy Meal type: Dinner Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

What a superb meal at Kam Boat Teochew Restaurant 金龍船潮州酒家! Our first time there and will definitely be back more!! Great cooking, such balance & finesse in flavours! Crab was cooked to perfection with such sweet flesh & loads of roe. The Qing Long Cai was stir fried with amazing wok hei that we could smell that char aroma when the dish spins past on our lazy susan. The deep fried pork trotters looked like it was going to be a challenge finishing the plate as it looked like we could get “jerlat” (no ang mo word to describe this type of feeling accurately I think), BUT whilst the skin was perfectly crispy, the meat beneath was so moist and that layer of fat just melts in the mouth….if I wasn’t so full, I would have taken 2 pieces… the Teochew style fried kway teow (with preserved radish) — 2 thumbs up Basically, none of the dishes disappointed. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
