Located in the lobby of Novotel Singapore on Stevens, L'Aperitif is one of its kind "Art Sensory Bar", as how the hotel advertises it, with brilliant plays of lightings which makes the bar appears like a futuristic space station! It features live band which consisted of a soloist and a guitarist during our stay at the hotel. The soloist takes requests for English, Chinese, Tamil and Malay songs. My sister, nephew and I dropped by on a Friday evening to redeem my Accor Platinum membership welcome drinks. Zee, the bartender, offered complimentary drinks to all 4 occupants of the 2 rooms I booked when she read the hotel reservation information in my app which stated that the booking was for 4 pax. It was so unlike our previous experience during our past visits when we dropped by and was told that we were entitled to only 2 drinks, which made us declined the drinks and left. Zee was quick in her thinking, and she thought like a business owner. How much does it cost to give away free hot chocolates to a teetotaler who is a regular customer of the hotel who also happens to be an elite loyalty member, in this case Platinum member of Accor Live Limitless? A happy customer would spread the good words around. Zee, being a generation Z, knows that words spread fast on the internet. She treated the bar as her own business and did the right thing by not turning us away like what we had experienced during our previous stays. Noticing that my mother did not join us, Zee even offered a drink for my mother if I were to bring my mother the next evening. The next evening, all 4 of us, my mother, sister, nephew and I dropped by again after dinner, and this time round the bartender was Annis. Annis is a familiar face with whom I have interacted many times when she was still a wait staff at Winestone. I have always been impressed by her service, attitude, friendliness, and most importantly, smiles! Service staff who can't smile has no business working as a service staff, period. Annis, noticing that one of the 2 welcome drink vouchers in my Accor app has been redeemed, initially advised me that I could only redeem one more welcome drink. But noticing that there were 4 of us, she decisively offered 4 drinks. We declined and ordered only a chamomile and a hot chocolate. It's quick-thinking staff like this who makes or breaks a business. Seriously, how much does it cost for a cup of chamomile and a cup of hot chocolate in return for happy customers, whom you have known to be teetotalers, and perhaps free advertisements? My mother, sister and I don't drink alcohol. I would like to recommend the bar stocking up on some healthy drinks for health-conscious customers who are teetotalers. These days most highly educated and health-conscious people don't drink anymore. Educated people would have known that there's no safe amount of alcohol which one can consume. Hershey's unsweetened 100% dark chocolate powder is a great choice. Unfortunately, the hot chocolate Annis prepared was way too sweet. But perhaps it was my fault for not asking for unsweetened hot chocolate. Price per person: SGD 1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What made the night unforgettable was the live band that took the stage for their inaugural performance today. If you’re hunting for a spot for goo d drinks and great music, this is it. I left feeling lucky to have caught the first show, and I’ll definitely be back for round two. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
