My partner booked this restaurant for my birthday after seeing the positive reviews praising the food and view on OpenRice. Upon arrival, the view was alright. All I can say is the photographers in the OpenRice reviews are very talented. We ordered Set Dinner for 2. The food was extremely average, especially when L’ATLANTIS is supposed to be a more upscaled restaurant. Our favourite was the garlic bread that came with the soup. The seafood platter includes two oysters, two French scampi and two scallops. Scampi and oysters were okay, however, the scallops were absolutely horrendous. They tasted so bad that I did not have much appetite left after taking a few bites. We could not finish the scallops. They tasted not just bland, but like when you defrost some seafood after leaving it in the freezer for a long time, then you rinse it with water after defrosting. We both had slight diarrhea afterwards. Rest of the set dinner was better than the scallops, not much, but edible. We ordered the Kobe Beef Cheek and the Wagyu Ribeye Steak. Quality of meat was meh. The sauce definitely helped. Lastly, they brought us the special birthday dessert with a little candle on top. It was lovely and thoughtful. We took a few pictures for a minute before the wind blew out the candle. So we politely asked the waiter to light it again. He was very reluctant at first, saying "it is very windy here so it will just get blown out again." I apologize. Did not know it was such a hassle for this man to light it again. We certainly did not know the restaurant provides free Physics lecture before spending 5 seconds to lean over and light a candle. I would say it kinda ruined the mood for a birthday dinner. Despite all that, we did have an amazing waitress. We greatly appreciate her professional service. All in all, this is a place where you pay for mediocre view and mediocre food. The quality of food is no where near authentic French cuisine. If you have been to France and had a nice French meal, you will be disappointed, just like us. Limited vegetarian options are available at L'Atlantis however, the waitress advised that we can order the pasta dish with crab which can be served separately so that we can offer them to our companions. Overall, food, service and atmosphere were very good. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
