I loved my dinner at L’espoir. Drawing inspiration from SBS’s Korean Chef, I came curious about Chef Lim Ki‑hak, a respected yet under‑rated chef in Korea’s fine‑dining scene. Many dishes show impressive technique, blending French skills with Korean local ingredients. Some highlights really impressed me. The pressed‑juice duck, rhubarb‑mugwort dessert and rich onion soup stood out. I also appreciated how it is tailored well for East‑Asian palates. Still, a few courses were only solid rather than exceptional. Watching how modern Korean fine‑dining has grown over the years is fascinating. Rankings are just references. If you enjoy creative fusion food, L’espoir is absolutely worth a visit. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₩20,000–30,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Was excited to come to here after seeing the Netflix show with my husband. The restaurant interior is pretty and very clean. We came during lunch to try their lunch menu plus the signature onion soup Onion soup is a little bit sweet in my opinion. But I enjoyed most of the dishes especially veal and the duck that was specially served by the chef himself Service is varied between the staffs as they have only one who can speak English and she's professional in all aspect and the other staff is a bit casual in her services and not up to par standard in fine dining restaurant but this is my own opinion. I agreed with other reviewers , service should be better when we pay 160,000 won for lunch compared to other restaurant standard. But overall is a not bad experience , and I wouldnt mind to come back for their ala carte instead next time. Price per person: ₩100,000+ Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
