Hello, my family came to the tai po branch last night for dinner and my cousin who ate the raw oysters, threw up 3 times last night a few hours later. I believe your food was contaminated and caused her food poisoning, just thought I would let you know to ensure you are aware of this immediately so you can check and prevent any other customers from getting sick

DON'T EAT HERE L'AMOUR is advertised as a high-end French private kitchen, promising an elegant dining experience. I had planned to celebrate my birthday there but was warned by a good friend to reconsider. My friend had a distressing experience at the restaurant in December, just before Christmas. Their family of five spent nearly HKD3,000, and unfortunately, one member ended up with severe diarrhea. She suspected the fresh oysters, which were priced at HKD676, as the culprit. Following the so-called pre-Christmas celebratory dinner, she spent the next few hours in the hospital. Doctors at Union Hospital diagnosed her with gastroenteritis, likely caused by the oysters. In light of this, my friend informed the restaurant about the situation and sought compensation; at the very least, they should have reimbursed her medical expenses (HKD2,090.5). Additionally, for a restaurant of such calibre, a refund for the meal or a complimentary dinner, along with a sincere apology, would have been appropriate. However, the restaurant offered none of these remedies, acting as if it were not their responsibility. I found this particularly appalling, especially as Hong Kong’s food and beverage industry struggles, with many locals choosing to cross the border for their weekend escapades—wining, dining, and shopping. It is this kind of service quality that leaves a bitter aftertaste for Hong Kong patrons, like my friend, who aim to support the local industry yet receive such cold and heartless treatment in return. My friend is now considering bringing the case to the Consumer Council.
