Here chicken is among my daughter's favourite dishes so we had to come. The place was empty yet there was only one menu available between the two of us. A bit odd we thought. Having said that the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the food was nothing like what she was used to in South London. The chicken was dry and had a peculiar taste, like lighter fuel or burning plastic. We barely ate and left. Maybe it was just a bad day or there was an issue with the cooking utensils, but it was a disappointing experience. Shame as it's a cute spot. Terrible restaurant, worst Caribbean food I’ve ever had, still have a nasty taste in my mouth from it. Firstly the food took ages to come then they brought the mains 20 minutes before the sides were ready. The patties were super dry and tasted like dry mince with plastic cheese. The rice and peas tasted like microwave rice. The festival tasted like stale bread. The only nice thing was the drinks. The staff can barely speak English and don’t understand requests. Then on top of that the bill came to 5000 Baht, more than $120. Do not recommend this place to anybody. 1/10. We remember you guys! You mentioned about your sides (festival) coming late and said you had all already eaten all of your mains. You were a table of 4-5 ordered 4-5 meals and equally as much drinks which reflects the price off your bill. We serve fresh off the grill hence the wait. We are not a fast food chain

Amazing experience at Mekka Jerk. We didn’t realize it was cash only and had no cash on us. Instead of making it a problem, the owner went above and beyond — he even drove me back to the hotel on his motorcycle so I could sort it out. I came back the next day to pay the bill, and he had trusted me by holding my Swiss ID as a deposit, which I of course got back after paying. Food was great, vibes were authentic, and the owner is a genuinely trustworthy and kind person. Rare experience, highly recommended. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ฿600–800 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
