Tried when it opened and now half a year later. Still not worth $13.3 . For scramble eggrice , need to add $3 for char siew, and then $3.5 if you want the not even full cup of milk tea. The taste was either the salty flavour from the flood of soy sauce at the bottom of the plate, or the chilli overpowering everything. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Having visited Hong Kong Mon Kee Cafe, we were in high anticipation of its first overseas outpost in the newly-revamped The Food Place by Food Republic. The Beef Scrambled Egg Rice Rice with Coriander and Homemade Sweet Soy Sauce (S$9) was decent. Scrambled egg, atop the savoury stir-fried beef and rice, was wobbly and silky smooth; tender, juicy beef was a result of well-executed prep and cooking. The homemade sweet soy sauce lent this comfort food a balanced sweet-salty notes Measly stir-fried beef and coriander a slight let-down though... Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Other Price per person: SGD 1–10
