Food on point, service on point, and drinks out of this world. Make the visit for the food or drinks as both are best in class for Niseko or pretty much anywhere you will visit in Japan. Surprisingly larger than it looks from outside but very warm and inviting and hip at same time. No expenses sparred by the them on the food or drinks but still a good value for what you get highly recommended. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Can't say enough positive things about this place. From the service to the food and to the cocktails, all top notch. Shout out to the lovely Kayci, Beth and especially Cyanne. All absolute aces and assets to the NC and Niseko community. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Food and drinks worth the money - service, coziness and overall atmosphere lacking behind completely (incl. poor choice of a playlist)! Positive things first: the 6-course menu was utterly delicious. Every single dish had different elements, were definitely warm (even had heated plates), compared to other reviews here and were nicely presented. Ingredients were definitely premium. The cocktails we had also didn’t lack much behind and were very enjoyable. We arrived a little early compared to our booking but being within off-season same wasn’t a problem at all, which was nice. The issues, however, we had were multiple and spoiled the evening. Our little dining booth was very cold (same was mentioned in previous reviews already). A heater was provided but even with that it remained fairly cold in there throughout the evening. We eventually moved to the bar for drinks afterwards. Another negative point that struck us was the speed of service between the 6-course meal. We literally finished a dish or even one of the two of us and a waiter would already collect the empty dishes (while the other person was still finishing theirs), which is a simple no go in the hospitality/dining industry of this standard. There were no proper breaks in between dishes at all. One time, it took a stunning 1.5min (!) to finish a dish til the plate was cleared and another 5-7 Minutes until the next dish was served. We felt like 100m-Sprinters! Don’t forget we arrived 45min earlier than our original booking - why the rush? It became obvious that there was a lack of training to the staff abt dining etiquette and the mere fact that one table doesn’t need to be looked after by 4 different waiters just because there’s nothing else to do for all of them. Staff members circled around us, happily unaware of each other, during the entire dinner just to have some (piece of) work to do (not the greatest of atmospheres, when you try to have a nice convo with your partner alongside a meal). This being said, the lady who explained each dish did well on that part and she was quite friendly. Music - these days, it’s not hard to find a playlist that echoes a cool, edgy but yet cozy bar/restaurant ambiance on Spotify. Tonight’s playlist at Niseko Confidential didn’t pass that test. It didn’t match the atmosphere or rather didn’t enhance it whatsoever. Lastly, while paying we gave a short feedback to yet another waiter, that we got rushed through a 6-course dinner under an hour. The acknowledgment echoed the entire lack of staff experience - if there would have been the tiniest clue of how hospitality works, then he wouldn’t have simply replied “Good to know. Sorry about that.” and left it there. Probably also a testament to another fact that one of the staff was Japanese, hence very likely only attached to the restaurant for a season. Equally that person, then would have gotten our coats us (after having paid the bill), which were collected by staff at the beginning. The attentiveness was then again beyond what you expect for a total bill of 62.5k Yen. It really is a shame because the food and each dish was a showstopper and 5/5, but music and especially the lack in service and dining etiquette overshadowed the entire culinary experience, negatively!
