This little gem in Koh Lanta is doing something truly special: taking Thai classics and turning them into something refined and memorable. The food is generous, creative, and full of flavor: traditional at heart, yet cooked with a real gastronomic touch. What surprised us most was how familiar dishes suddenly felt new again, both in taste and in appearance. Every plate is beautifully presented, with obvious care and attention to detail — something you rarely see in a casual Thai restaurant. You can tell that someone here truly loves what they do. Last but not least, the service is warm and attentive — a perfect match for the food. Don't leave without trying the Deep Fried Papaya Salad. An absolute must. We wandered into Number 9 for dinner and honestly, this place blew us away. It's a small, family-run spot—nicely decorated without being fussy—and the service was genuinely warm and attentive throughout. The real star here is whoever's in the kitchen. The chef has an exceptional hand. Every dish that came out was beautifully balanced, with that depth of flavour you're always hoping for but don't always find. The curries were rich and properly seasoned, the Pad Thai hit all the right notes, and the chicken with cashews had that perfect combination of textures and taste. Dish after dish delivered a genuine wow factor—the kind where you keep looking at each other across the table going "this is really good." The only slight miss was the chicken satay, which was fine but didn't quite reach the heights of everything else. A minor note in an otherwise outstanding meal. I'm genuinely surprised this place isn't packed every night. Among the Long Beach restaurant options, Number 9 deserves far more attention than it seems to get.
