Nice cake shop, good spot to spend ~1 hour chatting / reading over good cake, nice drink while looking out the nostalgic street of Joo Chiat. I have been so desperately looking for a decent dessert shop where I can sit down and enjoy my own quality time with a "proper" cake which is fresh, fluffy and not overly sweet. I finally found what I've been yearning at Olsen Bakehouse! Fluffy cake, yummy cream, comfortable seating, nice decor. They offer very interesting cake flavours such as kopi, pandan, orn neeh. The butter cream works well for me, I suppose it's a style of local cakes. Overall very happy to find this cake shop and truly enjoyed my time here. Definitely would come back for more good cake good time!

Girlfriend ordered cakes for my fortieth. Sesame Yuzu cake and Orh Nee cake, cuz of my preference for yuzu and teochee yam concoctions. Sadly got sick, and she had to finish those for me. Well, we had to visit in person next date then, and so we did. Very interesting ideas, run by what looks like a family, and the execution was good as well. Would have liked to try the hot cross buns and the Swedish cardamon rolls. Good vibes, the staff seem to genuinely like each other. Haha just kidding. The baker and his wife even had this happily married photo where he appeared to be 'choking' her with an arm bar, and she didn't seem to know if to clutch the arm to prevent herself from losing consciousness, or to cry in laughter. Couple goals? Maybe. Meal type: Other Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My colleagues got me a orh nee cake from here and it was an absolute delight! It tastes like an elevated pandan chiffon cake and the orh Nee is not overpowering. It was so light and impressive. Very beautiful too Food: 5
