Update May 2026: Still my happy place Once again I've spent 5 happy nights in Orion Bar. Everything I wrote before is still valid but I want to make a few more mentions and comments. A special "thank you" goes to the owner, Mai, his family, the waiters Bi and Eat and other staff . You're all wonderful people who've made my time in Chiang Mai so happy and memorable. The bar remains unchanged. It's simple but looked after just as much as staff and owner look after their customers. The music was also good, in fact much better than last year. It's a fun place if you just go with it and allow yourself to have fun. I also did a very enjoyable tour to Doi Inthanon with the owner. It was good value, everything was well organised, we had delicious lunch in a beautiful setting and you can be sure of good company. What's more, you don't need to leave too early in the morning . I will definitely be back in Orion Bar on my next trip to Chiang Mai. October 2025: To me, Orion Bar is a great little place. It's welcoming to everyone, you just have to be open to it and find your place. The drinks are reasonably priced, there's a fun atmosphere, the owner is friendly and helpful and the regular waiters Bi and Jord are totally adorable, each in their own way. Of course, like any bar it may not be to everyone's taste but thanks to the lovely staff it's been my happy place for the past 2 nights and will remain so for the next few nights. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
