Decent Food, but Service Needs Improvement Popped into Penang Savour for a meal. Overall, the food is decent, but the dining experience was let down by the service, which was quite lacking and not very welcoming. The Food: Crispy Egg Gravy Noodles: The noodles retained a nice crunch under the thick egg gravy, and the prawns and meat slices were reasonably fresh. A solid, comforting dish. Mui Fan / Egg Gravy Rice: The gravy-to-rice ratio was just right, packed with plenty of fish cake, prawns, and greens. It tastes okay, standard comfort food. Sambal Vegetables: This had a nice, robust flavor with a decent spicy kick from the sambal coating the eggplant, long beans, and lady's fingers. It was probably the highlight of the meal. The Service: While the food satisfies a basic craving, the staff service was unfortunately not so good. The wait times were a bit long, and the front-of-house staff seemed rather inattentive and lacking in warmth. Verdict: Go for a quick, casual fix if you are already nearby and craving these dishes, but don't expect a seamless or particularly pleasant service experience.

Writing this after our second visit, I think the food is alright. Penang Fried Kway Teow always hits the spot. Their prawn beehoon mee is also good. I had to pass on the nasi lemak since my mum is ordering both the fried kway teow and prawn mee. I read that some customers have issues with their level of seasoning, be it too salty or too bland. I also think they listen, because what I find salty is now bland, and others are salty. You cannot please everyone. We are okay with the backrest-less seats but being located at a corner of the mall means they have to optimise seating to take in customers. The pork lard that came with the prawn mee wasn't too fresh. That was all that bothered me. Price per person: SGD 1–10
