I enjoyed the pistachio cheesecake very much. Even more so for the pistachio and earl grey scones. But a bit disappointed with the recommendation of the lemon tart cos I specifically asked for pastry which would not melt as a takeaway. However the tart melted upon arrival about 20 min at my friend's place, to cheer her up as she cannot leave her house. Luckily she did not mind the ugly look of the tart. But she liked the tart and commented that the taste was still good. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Review of Pink Charlotte Cake Shop I decided to try Pink Charlotte Cake Shop after seeing numerous social media posts and glowing reviews. The shop certainly has a charming vibe that seems to resonate with many in Hougang, but for me, the cakes didn’t quite live up to the hype. I ordered a heart-shaped lychee rose cake for a birthday. The shop owner was very warm and accommodating, even offering to create a customized design, which we truly appreciated. The final product looked beautiful and well-presented. Unfortunately, the taste was a letdown. The sponge was extremely dry—so much so that it was hard to swallow comfortably. This completely overshadowed the otherwise lovely design. For the price and reputation, I had expected something much more enjoyable. Honestly, I feel we might have had a better experience with a simple cake from Chateraise or other established bakeries. That said, I haven’t yet tried their sliced cheesecakes available for dine-in, but we did pick up some bite-sized cookies and macarons. Those were quite pleasant and made for good snacks. Overall, while the service and aesthetics were commendable, the actual taste of the cake fell short of expectations. Meal type: Other Price per person: SGD 60–70 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

During our trial runs, we always slice and set cakes aside to monitor freshness over time. With the lychee raspberry cake specifically, we’ve found that the sponge remains moist for several days — in fact, it often becomes more moist over time due to the natural juices from the lychees seeping into the layers. A Hidden Gem! Found this cafe while searching on Google for cake shops near my home, and I’m so glad I did! I placed an order for a custom cake with a design my daughter really wanted. The lady owner was incredibly polite and so accommodating to all our requests. The cake design turned out absolutely beautiful — exactly how we imagined it. Not only did it look amazing, but the red velvet cake itself was delicious! It had the perfect balance of cream cheese and sponginess. Excellent service, great taste, and real value for money. This cafe is truly a hidden gem. We’ll definitely be ordering again!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
