The Plaza Premium Lounge (Zone C, International Departures, Terminal 1) at Taiwan Taoyuan Airport is a welcome surprise. Clean, well-run, and staffed by an attentive crew, it offers shockingly good food—especially the Taiwanese beef noodles and braised pork. With sparkling water on tap and seating (unlike its similarly named counterpart down the hall), this lounge is absolutely worth your time. Full Review: After a frustrating detour to the overcrowded Plaza Premium Lounge in Zone A/D, I approached the Zone C lounge in Terminal 1 of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (just down the hall) with modest expectations. Thankfully, those expectations were quickly surpassed—and then some. The first and most immediate relief? There were seats. In an era where airport lounges are too often plagued by overcrowding, simply being able to sit down is a luxury in itself. But this lounge offered more than just available chairs—it offered comfort, calm, and competence. The staff here were excellent—friendly, attentive, and impressively efficient. Trays were cleared promptly, trash was managed seamlessly, and the overall tidiness of the lounge was a testament to their quiet but constant effort. In a high-traffic space like this, that sort of upkeep doesn't go unnoticed. But what truly set this experience apart was the food. Far too often, airport lounge food is little more than an afterthought—lukewarm rice, some limp noodles, and a questionable sandwich or two. Not so here. The Taiwanese beef noodles were genuinely delicious: the broth was rich, the beef tender, and the noodles had just the right amount of chew. The braised pork dish? It bordered on revelatory—comfort food elevated to lounge cuisine with surprising finesse. The chicken curry was flavorful with well-cooked, juicy chicken, and even the humble chicken nuggets were served crispy, hot, and fresh. It’s rare that I find myself going back for seconds at a lounge buffet, but here, I did so gladly. To top it all off, there’s sparkling water on tap—a small touch, but a welcome one, especially for those of us who appreciate a little fizz without resorting to sugary sodas. If I were to nitpick, this isn’t a “luxury” lounge in the traditional sense—don’t come expecting spa treatments or à la carte gourmet menus. But what it does, it does very well: a clean, comfortable space with thoughtful touches, great staff, and food that punches far above its weight. Plaza Premium Lounge Zone C is the kind of airport lounge that actually makes travel a bit more enjoyable. A solid 4/5 in my book—and easily one of the better Priority Pass lounges in Asia.
