We didnt eat, just placed the order then left, we had an emergency call so had to leave, got a chance to meet the owner, what a lovely person, we will be back next month to actually sit and relax. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Other

Outstanding Mediterranean Flavors at the Beachfront! After an extended stay in Thailand, we have been absolutely spoiled by the incredible local cuisine, but finding "El Barril"—located right at the beachfront and just a short walk from the Nathon Town pier—was a spectacular and delightful change of pace. We visited as a family for lunch and were completely blown away by the quality of the Mediterranean food. We ordered a variety of dishes, and every single one hit the mark. The chicken tapas were perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the homemade French fries were a massive hit with the whole family—crispy, fresh, and clearly made from scratch. The absolute standout, however, was the grilled fresh calamari (offered that day). It was cooked to absolute perfection, incredibly tender, and bursting with flavor. What made our lunch even more special was the hospitality. The owner, who also runs the kitchen as the head chef, took the time to come to our table personally to check if we were enjoying everything. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which gave the whole place a wonderful, personal atmosphere. If you are in Nathon and looking for a break from Thai food, or if you just want to enjoy top-tier Spanish tapas right by the sea, do not miss this gem.
