憧れていたホテルでとても期待していただけに、少し残念な滞在でした。 特に朝食レストランでエッグベネディクトを担当されていた女性スタッフの接客が、こちらが困惑してしまうほどに感じが悪く、正直驚きました。 一方で、私たちの後ろに並んでいた白人系のご夫婦には笑顔で接客されており、私たちへの対応との温度差を感じてしまいました。 バンコク初日の朝から、なんだか気分の悪いスタートになってしまったのが残念です。 後日、別の日にその方に対応してもらった家族も、同じように感じたと言っていました。 ホテル自体はもちろん素晴らしく、スタッフの方々もお願いしたことにはきちんと対応してくださいました。 ただ、滞在を通して感じたのは、 「お願いしたことには対応してくださるけれど、それ以上のホスピタリティはあまり感じられない」 ということでした。 「まぁ、こんなものなのかな……」なんて思っていたのですが、 今回の旅行ではこの後、別のホテルにも宿泊しました。 そちらでは、フロント、コンシェルジュ、ベルスタッフ、レストランスタッフなど、出会うスタッフの方々が皆さん心からの笑顔で接してくださり、 こちらが何もお願いしなくても、 「どうしたら喜んでもらえるか」「何か困っていないか」とお一人お一人が考えてくださっていることがヒシヒシと伝わってきて、本当に驚いたほどです。 その経験をしたことで、改めて、 「ホテルの格や設備だけではなく、そこで働く人のホスピタリティこそが、滞在の印象を大きく左右するのだな」と感じました。 ペニンシュラには大きな期待をしていただけに、今回は少し期待とは違う滞在になりました。

今回のバンコク滞在でペニンシュラ・バンコクに宿泊しました。 チャオプラヤ川沿いのロケーションは素晴らしく、部屋からの眺めは昼も夜もとても美しかったです。スタッフの対応は終始丁寧で、細かな気配りまで行き届いており、さすが世界的なラグジュアリーホテルだと感じました。 朝食は種類が豊富で、タイ料理から洋食までどれも美味しく、ゆったりとした時間を過ごせました。ホテル専用のシャトルボートも便利で、アイコンサイアムや周辺観光へのアクセスが快適だったのも魅力です。 客室は落ち着いた雰囲気で清潔感があり、アメニティも充実していました。特にLA BOTTEGAのアメニティは香りが良く、高級感がありました。 バンコクには多くの高級ホテルがありますが、景色・サービス・設備のバランスが非常に良く、「また泊まりたい」と思えるホテルです。特別な旅行や記念日の滞在にも自信を持っておすすめできます。

A mixed experience at a luxury icon. While staying at The Peninsula Bangkok, we encountered a noticeable contrast in how foreign guests versus Thai guests are welcomed. Upon arrival, foreign guests were immediately greeted with fresh flower garlands and welcome drinks, while we received neither. It wasn't until I asked whether welcome drinks were standard that management rectified the oversight by having them sent to our room. We do want to express our gratitude for the thoughtful room upgrade and the cake, which was a kind touch of recognition. However, service inconsistencies continued elsewhere. We received no turndown service during our stay (DND was not on), and during our dinner at the River Cafe, the initial treatment was sub-par. The level of attentiveness only improved after the staff realized we were actual hotel guests. On the positive side, the hotel maintains the classic Peninsula aesthetic, while the rooms are certainly dated, they are immaculately clean and feature exceptionally comfortable beds. Food is excellent as well!! Although we appreciate the room upgrade and the celebratory cake, the service disparities left a lingering impression. For a property of this tier and price range, other hotels in Bangkok deliver a much more consistent, equitable, and refined experience. Unfortunately, we would choose to stay elsewhere on future visits.
