Quite an authentic Japanese experience, food, music, ambience. Higher quality Japanese food at this location. 5 stars, great experience, as close as you can get without travelling to Japan itself. Definitely much better restaurant as compared to the popular franchises that sells overpriced, low-quality Japanese food that are in the typical shopping malls. Price per person: $60–70

Fantastic Izakaya Experience Near Bugis! My friend and I walked in without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised when the staff quickly accommodated us despite the fully booked counter seats. The atmosphere was lively and authentic, just like a traditional Japanese izakaya. Highlights included the soft and flavorful Mentaiko Tamago Yaki, rich Salmon Belly & Ama Ebi Kani Miso, smoky charcoal-grilled Wagyu Beef Cube and Kurobuta Collar, as well as the crispy Kaki Fry and Tori Karaage. Every dish was well-executed and packed with flavor. Considering its location right next to Bugis MRT, the food quality, variety, and pricing offer excellent value. Service was friendly, efficient, and welcoming throughout. Pros: Great food variety, authentic izakaya atmosphere, accommodating staff, and good value. Cons: Counter seats fill up quickly, so reservations are recommended if you want the full paddle-service experience. Will definitely return and book ahead next time! Robata Hikari offers a beautifully cozy, intimate atmosphere that feels like a genuine slice of Tokyo tucked away in the heart of Singapore. The open-kitchen concept is a highlight—watching the chefs masterfully work the charcoal grill adds a captivating, sensory layer to the meal. With attentive service and a diverse selection of high-quality small plates, it’s an ideal spot for a romantic date night or a relaxed catch-up with friends. I’ll definitely be returning soon!
