Our Curry Fish Head is usually a crowd favourite, but it sounds like the size didn't quite live up to the price tag this time. Disappointed with the Crispy Egg Noodles I ordered the Chicken Crispy Egg Noodles (S$6.50) based on the menu photo, which showed a generous portion of crispy egg noodles served separately with thick gravy, fresh vegetables, and well-presented toppings. The expectation was that the noodles would remain crispy until mixed with the sauce. However, what arrived at my table looked very different from the advertised image. Differences I noticed: • The menu photo showed a golden nest of crispy noodles, but the actual dish was completely soaked in gravy, losing the crispy texture that the dish is known for. • The presentation was significantly different. The menu displayed a neat and appetising arrangement, whereas the served dish looked more like a regular noodle soup. • The amount of chicken in the actual dish appeared small, unevenly cut, and less appealing compared to the impression given by the menu image. • The gravy-to-noodle ratio was excessive, overwhelming the dish and making it difficult to enjoy the texture of the crispy noodles. • While there were vegetables included, the overall appearance and composition did not resemble the menu photo, creating a sense of disappointment. I understand that menu photos are often for illustration purposes, but the actual product should still reasonably reflect what customers are ordering. In this case, the difference between the advertised dish and what was served was substantial. I hope the restaurant can either improve consistency in food preparation or use more accurate menu photos to better manage customers' expectations. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: SGD 10–20

While our kitchen team does try to channel their inner food photographers daily, it sounds like they went a bit overboard with the gravy this time and completely drowned the 'crispy' right out of your noodles. We take your points about the chicken portion and the presentation seriously, and we've shared this exact feedback with our Chinatown Point kitchen crew to ensure they aren't treating our crispy noodles like a regular noodle soup. We dined at Segar Restaurant today, a Halal-certified eatery we frequently visit. This restaurant offers great value with its $33.80 set meals for 2. We selected cereal prawns as our main dish, accompanied by minced chicken tofu, chye sim with garlics, two glasses of refreshing lemon juice, and two plates of white rice. Their assam fish is a must-have for us, so we added it to our meal as always. What stood out once again was the exceptional service provided by an elderly server, Guek Hua who greets everyone with a warm, familiar smile. Her passion for serving diners is evident in the way she attentively observes their needs and spontaneously offers assistance. I was particularly impressed by her agility and skill in carrying 4 to 5 plates at a time, effortlessly serving each table with grace. Her dedication truly enhances the dining experience, making every visit enjoyable.
