They provided nine complimentary side dishes along with malt tea, and most of them were quite enjoyable. The overall quality was what I would expect from a higher-end Korean restaurant. We ordered the wagyu beef and aged pork belly. The grilled wagyu was exceptionally tender and juicy, almost melting in my mouth. I really enjoyed both the flavour and texture. The pork belly was decent as well, though it leaned slightly on the tougher side. A bit more fat would have helped give it a richer texture and better mouthfeel. Overall, the food was excellent, and there isn’t much for me to nitpick about when it comes to the dishes themselves. However, I witnessed something that genuinely put me off. I saw the restaurant drying lettuce leaves on newspapers, which struck me as highly unhygienic. It wasn’t simply a case of leaving them there to dry either. One of the staff members was repeatedly patting or “whacking” the lettuce against the newspaper to remove excess moisture. Since these lettuce leaves are served raw as wraps, there is no cooking process to reduce any potential contamination. What concerned me further was that the newspapers appeared to be reused, as the staff carefully folded them up and kept them afterwards. For any F&B establishment, this would be questionable. For a restaurant positioned at the higher end of the market, it is especially disappointing. Because of this, I can’t in good faith give the restaurant a 5-star rating despite how much I enjoyed the food. I hope the management takes a closer look at this practice and addresses it accordingly. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $50–60 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

After Hello Bbq. This could be my next always go to Korean bbq. Clean and non bbq Smokey environment. They are another concept under Don DAE Bak. Great meat and superb good Gamjangtang. May have to up their service personnel. Too busy to cook and take order at the same time resulted in exterior meat burnt at some point. But overall will definitely go back again. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great food and cozy atmosphere at Story One Korean Restaurant. Special mention to one of the young staff I forgot her name.. who was very accommodating and always smiling. Even during busy hours, she still delivered excellent service. Will definitely come back! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+
