I have visited Taipei many times and tried countless vegan restaurants, but Sunami has become one of my absolute favorites. I've been here three times already, and each visit has confirmed my first impression: this place is truly special. The interior design is beautiful, modern, stylish, and elegant, yet at the same time warm, relaxing, and incredibly comfortable. It is the kind of place where you immediately feel at ease and want to stay longer than planned. The food is consistently delicious, creative, and surprisingly generous in portion size. Every dish feels carefully prepared, with great attention to flavor, presentation, and quality ingredients. The menu manages to be innovative while remaining satisfying and comforting. What makes the experience even better is the staff. Everyone has always been genuinely kind, welcoming, and attentive, making every visit enjoyable from beginning to end. Knowing that Sunami is part of the team behind other well-known plant-based concepts in Taiwan helps explain the high standards found here. The restaurant brings together creativity, hospitality, and a clear passion for vegan cuisine in a way that feels effortless. Taipei has many excellent vegan restaurants, but Sunami stands out for its atmosphere, food quality, and overall dining experience. Highly recommended for vegans and non-vegans alike. Decent selection. I received the wonton soup, which largely seemed frozen meats and was totally decent, if not revelatory. However, I imagine if you were to get their signature dishes one might be happier. Some of my meal mates enjoyed the tempeh dishes, but again no terrible excitement. One said it was more fried than he hoped, and lacking in a sauce that might make it more enticing. Wait staff is very stylish and pretty, but cool in demeanor. Lots of seating across two floors Price per person: $200–400
