Views are amazing. So many spot for photography. Some have to pay tho. Even tho the shuttle was free, The entrance fee was 200thb per person. Food and drink are a bit over price comparing that you already paid for entrance. It’s probably worth it if you’re influencer or going there for a lot of photography. Some tourists took so long time at some spot tho. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ฿800–1,000 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

This place is a scam, and the main issue is clear: at the start of the trail there is only a sign saying “150 m to viewpoint” with no mention of any fee. Only after walking up the trail in exhausting heat do you discover a woman at the top demanding 200 THB per person to pass through a gate. This is misleading and dishonest. I have visited this area more than a dozen times, so I know how it changed. Originally there was the real Overlap Stone, located lower on the mountain. A Thai family let visitors pass through their garden, and there was only an optional donation box. After a land conflict, the place was commercialized, parking was formalized, and the entrance fee was raised to an unreasonable 200 THB. Because of that, I found another viewpoint higher up, commonly called Overlap Stone 2 or 3 (names changed over time). It was better in every way: a more impressive view, beautiful rocks, an easy and pleasant hike. The entrance fee was symbolic (20 THB), you could buy a coconut or a cold drink, and access felt fair. There was a small paid parking area (20 THB), but you could still park elsewhere, and with enough skill it was even possible to ride a motorbike almost to the top. In December 2025, everything got worse. Motorbikes are now blocked at the parking area, despite the road being widened for SUVs. Visitors are pushed into a so-called free pickup transfer to a rebranded spot now called “The Best Samui Bar and Restaurant”. Charging 200 THB per person after people have already completed the hike, including families with elderly parents, is not just greedy but deceptive. There are no price warnings at the bottom of the trail. Only at the top are you forced to pay, and staff falsely claim that price signs exist below. I do not recommend this place anymore. It has turned from a great viewpoint into a cash trap. Samui has many other beautiful spots you can reach on foot without supporting people who profit from misleading visitors.
