We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel and decided to visit the buffet at the Brasserie. There is a wide selection of food available but it is limited compared to the buffet available at the Grand Intercontinental Paranas. The hot section consisted of fried shrimp and potatoes, lamb chops, steak, meat balls, dim sum, fried rice and some other thing's that weren't special. At these buffets I always look forward to the lamb chops as it's one of my favourite meats that I don't always get to eat and steak is always a treat. Other than these 2 meats the rest of the dishes were just OK and nothing stood out as being outstanding. The fresh fish counter is next and there is a selection of cold seafood salads which didn't look too appetising and there were other side dishes. The sushi and sashimi was very limited to shrimp, salmon and tuna but nothing that stood out as being fresh. The selection of cheese and breads were good and the cheese was kept on a cooling plate and wasn't left to sweat and it went well with the cranberry bread and sour dough bread. The final section was the dessert section and when I saw Häagen Dazs I knew if anything else wasn't good for dessert then the ice cream would be and I was right. The cakes were constantly being changed over and the desserts in a cup looked pretty but it was all mediocre and all seemed to have a similar cake batter taste. The Häagen Dazs was definitely the best part of dessert.
