There is a variety of thunder tea options, food is good and healthy, nice that one can add extra protein like chicken or fish. Fried fish filet is tasty. Place is cosy. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Came here because the menu looked quite interesting. Thunder tea rice together with basil chicken? Not exactly a combination you see every day When we arrived and realised the place was halal, we were still curious enough to give it a try and honestly, it turned out surprisingly good. The thunder tea rice itself was nice and comforting. Personally, I think it would be even better with some cai po or fried shrimps for extra texture and flavour, but I know different places all have their own style and variations. I also randomly decided to yolo and mix the basil chicken together with the thunder tea rice and somehow it actually worked really well. Sounds strange but surprisingly addictive. Interesting concept overall and I would come back again if I’m around the area. One thing the staff could improve on though is attentiveness. There was a customer who had already finished his meal but was sitting there playing some phone game at maximum volume, which was honestly quite disruptive for everyone else dining in. The place wasn’t even busy and the staff was just sitting there using her phone while completely ignoring what was happening around her. A bit of a wasted opportunity to improve the dining atmosphere. It was my first time eating here, and I was pleasantly surprised by both the portion size and the flavour! Adding rice for $1 is totally worth it. The ingredients lean slightly toward the salty side, which I really like, as that saltiness feels very authentic to the Hakka style. Regarding the Lei Cha, it was a first for me to add hot water to the tea paste myself, whereas most other places serve it already prepared. You can add hot water depending on how rich you want the flavour to be. My friend mentioned that while the ingredients are good, the Lei Cha could be smoother and more fragrant if made a bit less dense. I will definitely come back! However, I'm wondering if they accept BYO (Bring Your Own) containers if I bring my own bowl. Currently, they only provide single-use disposables, which isn't very eco-friendly. Plus, the direct contact of hot water with the plastic lining of the bowl might cause microplastics to leach into the food.
