1/5 Date of visit: 26 Nov 2025, ~12pm Dropped by Toft Loft Café expecting a lunch crowd. Instead, I walked into a completely empty café — honestly the biggest red flag of the day, and I should’ve trusted it. I’ve eaten here a few times before (mostly because my lash tech is in the same building), so I wanted to check if their aglio olio with chilli was still available. Their menu is a chaotic collage slapped all over their glass panels, so I asked the man at the cashier — who was doing absolutely nothing — if they still served it. He replied with attitude, saying they do have it but it’s “not on the menu.” Before I could even process that, the lady from the kitchen stormed over to lecture me about how their chilli isn’t sambal, it’s their “special homemade chilli.” I told her calmly that I’m aware — I’ve eaten there before — and she practically barked back, “YES I KNOW, I ALSO SERVED YOU BEFORE.” Alright then. As I looked back at the mess of a menu, she proceeded to complain about me in Cantonese to the cashier right in front of me, as if I was invisible or deaf. Spoiler: I understood every word. I let them finish their little commentary, then said, “It’s okay, thank you,” and walked out. For a place serving extremely average pasta and a chilli they act like they invented, the level of attitude is unreal. After telling my friends who work nearby, it turns out they’ve had the same nonsense and have already boycotted the place. Diners beware: the only thing spicier than their chilli is their customer service — and not in a good way. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
