We stumbled upon Vission Bakery after noticing a huge crowd gathered outside, so naturally we had to see what the hype was about. It quickly became clear that the most popular items were the Mochi Pistachio and the Matcha Danish, with almost everyone leaving the shop carrying one of the two. We decided to try the Matcha Danish. The staff recommended enjoying it within two hours for the best texture and flavour, which explained why several other tourists were standing just outside the bakery, eating their pastries fresh. The Matcha Danish definitely lived up to the expectations. The pastry was light, flaky, and buttery, while the chewy mochi filling added a fun contrast in texture. What stood out most was the balance of flavours—the sweetness of the mochi complemented the pleasant, slightly bitter notes of the matcha without either overpowering the other. It wasn’t overly sweet, making it easy to finish in one sitting. The bakery itself is small and takeaway-focused, so don’t be surprised if there’s a queue during peak hours. The turnover is fast, and the pastries are clearly baked fresh throughout the day. If you’re in Hong Kong and enjoy Japanese-inspired pastries, Vission Bakery is worth stopping by.
