Just got back from my trip to Japan and was missing the taste of some quality, tasty mochi. This place did not disappoint and I’m surprised it hasn’t gone viral yet! It’s a 10-min walk from the Sai Ying Pun MTR exit and definitely worth a visit. The shop has a clean and tidy interior with quite a range of options available on the menu (from sweet treats like cake and pastries to other savoury items). I watched the owner make the mochi herself while preparing my drink which was fun. As a self-proclaimed matcha connoisseur, the matcha was stellar. Not sure if they have alternative milk options available as it didn’t say on the menu but I also didn’t ask. With that in mind, I tried the Kyoto Matcha Yuzu Warabi Mochi drink (iced) and the yuzu complemented the matcha well and it was a much-needed refreshing drink on a hot summer day in HK (IFYKYK). The Mowchi was chewy and not too sweet. I will definitely be back!

Best warabi mochi in town! Ordered 8-piece takeaway after dinner. They were handmade by the owner, super soft and chewy. Relatively big size per piece too. Hidden gem
