A classic that never gets old. This outlet always has a long queue — even with plenty of tables and seating, the crowd just keeps coming, and honestly, it says everything about the quality. The kaya butter toast is simply the best part, and it's easy to see why everyone loves it. Perfectly crisp, generously buttered, and that kaya is just right. Well worth every minute of the wait. Came here on 3rd Apr 2026 morning, the toast was significantly smaller than usual, this is unacceptable. As I look at the toast of other patrons, theirs were small too. I am regular here and the quality has always been consistent, very disappointed with my meal today. There was also an eggshell in my eggs... Ya Kun Kaya Toast (Compass One) - Comforting Local Fare That Feels Like a Warm Hug After my medical appointment at Sengkang Hospital, Donkey and I were looking for a comforting bite – since we’re both big fans of Ya Kun, we checked Google Maps to check which level the outlet is at Compass One! We’ve actually visited twice now, and each time has been great. Our 2nd visit was on 21 Jan, where we ordered a kaya pandan muffin, a large less-sweet tea, and a large less-sweet coffee – the total came to just $9.60 including 9% GST. The muffin was warm, fluffy, and had a lovely pandan-kaya aroma, while the drinks were perfectly balanced without being too cloying. This recent trip after my hospital check-up was just as satisfying. The outlet at #01-37 is clean and well-lit, with plenty of seating for both quick takeaways and relaxed meals. The staff are friendly and efficient, and we appreciate that they’re open daily from 7 am to 9 pm – perfect for early mornings or late afternoon snacks. As a homegrown Singaporean brand, Ya Kun never disappoints with its consistent quality. Their kaya spread is made without preservatives, and you can really taste the difference. Whether you’re going for their signature toast sets or just a simple drink and pastry, it’s always great value for money.
