Today I was served by Sharlene, Jezlyn and Mummy at the Subway outlet in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, and the experience reminded me why I keep returning to this outlet. What stands out is not only the quality and care in the food preparation, but the way the team works together with such natural coordination. There is a quiet rhythm behind the counter — each person attentive to the order, to one another, and to the customer standing before them. Customer requests are handled with patience and polite explanations. Nothing feels rushed. Instead, there is a genuine sense that they want to get things right for the customer. In a hospital environment where many people may already be carrying concerns or fatigue, this kind of thoughtful service brings a small but meaningful moment of ease. It is also clear that this culture comes from leadership. Manager Zaidi runs this outlet with standards that shape the way the team works. When leadership values respect, teamwork and consistency, it naturally flows through the team. The service is not forced — it is something that has been nurtured and then paid forward to every customer. I often find myself coming here even when it is raining. That says something about the experience they create. Good food brings people in, but genuine service is what keeps people returning. Thank you Zaidi, Sharlene, Jezlyn and Mummy for creating what feels like a small heavenly corner of service in the middle of a busy hospital.
