Nice old-skool cantonese restaurant serving premium dim sum. Everything was served within 10-15 minutes, and the food was quite delicious. Seating is ample, and the place feels spacious and peaceful. The service staff were polite and helpful throughout. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: SGD 70–80 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Saw many bad reviews about staff attitude and service, and unfortunately my family experienced the same. This was our first visit to Yan Palace. We went for lunch on 4 Jan 2026 at 1:30pm. We took some time to order before the food was served from 2:05pm. While we were eating, we noticed that by about 2:30pm, other groups were leaving and our table was the only one remaining. Staff service was good only until we have paid. After 2:30pm, a few staff members began gathering around our table and watching us eat. Shortly after, a lady who appeared to be a senior staff member approached us and asked in an annoyed tone, “Are you all finishing soon? There’s not much time left.” Feeling confused, I checked the operating hours and realised that the restaurant was closing at 3pm. Although we tried to eat faster, more staff continued to stand nearby and stare at us. THIS WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, and we could not even eat in peace. It is absurd for a restaurant to treat customers this way. It is reasonable that some customers may need more time to finish eating. We finished at 3:02pm and stayed outside the restaurant for about 5-10 mins. Shortly after, the same group of staff rushed out, seemingly eager to end their work. It felt as though we were pressured to finish quickly just so they could clock off earlier. Overall, the food quality was average, but the staff service was A HUGE TURN OFF. I would expect much better customer service and etiquette from an established restaurant like Yan Palace. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1
