The service was friendly and the ambiance was nice. I liked that the menu had clear photos and prices. I tried the Garlic Roasted Fish and it was flavorful, but the fish itself could have tasted a bit fresher. The Hot & Sour Soup had a good balance of spice and vinegar and felt very comforting. The Grilled Vermicelli Scallops were my favorite with a nice smoky aroma and bouncy texture. Overall a pleasant meal and worth a visit. The perfect after work dinner spot for office folks. The Golden Medal Stone Pot Chicken was bubbling hot and felt surprisingly light yet flavorful so great if you want something on the healthier side. My colleague had the Health Preserving Pot Lamb Chops and the broth tasted rich without being greasy. We shared a few small snacks and everything came out fast which is ideal for a quick weekday meal. Flavors feel very traditional but the presentation is quite modern. It can get busy so go slightly earlier. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We used to go to another Northeastern Chinese place nearby, but Yan Lai Ju is on another level. The Garlic Roasted Fish is fresher and nicely charred, and the Nourishing Lamb Offal Pot is rich without feeling greasy. I really liked the Dry Pot Organic Cauliflower too, super flavorful. Grilled Tendons were a fun snack and the Zhajiangmian was comforting. Service can be a bit busy at peak hours, but staff stay polite and helpful. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
