We cut the fish open and realise that it was still red and not fully cooked. They took it back to steam for a little longer and brought the same fish back. Even then, the meat was tough and difficult to remove from the bone. The sauce for the fish was also very salty. Food portions were all quite small as well. Not coming back agn Meal type: Dinner Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

Was looking for a place to have a quick dinner. Got a table quickly without reservation and ordered and paid via app. Food arrived quickly even though the restaurant was almost full. The dishes are flavorful, authentic and good portion. We had sweet and sour chicken which came as a thick cut of chicken. Fermented tofu pork belly was crispy and juicy without being oily. Chicken rice’s chicken was smooth and succulent. Lettuce with garlic was fresh. Overall a good place for a simple, affordable and good tasting meal. Dishes are good for sharing Meal type: Dinner Price per person: SGD 10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Hainan Second Street is a solid option when you’re craving a quick and affordable chicken rice meal. The chicken rice set is tasty and good value for money, with fragrant rice and flavourful sauce.
