One of our favorite restaurants for lunchtime, about 20 minutes out of Chiang Mai. It's a quiet place with a breathtaking view not matter if it's raining or the sun is shining. Food is simple but delicious, our big favorite is the fried fish with herbs. We sit there for hours just enjoying the wonderful nature all around. Amazing local, simple and delicious food! The cooking lady was very kind. She has an English menu and speaks some simple words in English. The view is amazing and the food very tasty. It's mostly fish on the menu, but there are some chicken and pork options and 1 or 2 vegetarian rice/papaya salad too. If you're not used to spicy Asian food; ask explicitly for no spice. If you do like it; you won't be disappointed. It's very simple, but very tasty despite what some other reviews might say! You can easily park here as the road is wide and has plenty of room next to the road. ️Figuring out how to get here took a bit of googling; The Google Maps directions are very confusing because some roads don't exist or are blocked/fenced off. You can enter the Mae Kuang Dam lake either from the south through a guarded open gate (Coordinates: 18,9252939, 99,1382134) free of charge. Or from the north (Coordinates: 19,0827282, 99,1012579). All roads leading into the park and around the lake are paved with asphalt and easily accessible, despite what the maps/satellite images might say. The road on the east of the lake looks as if it's flooded/sand road, but a new road has been paved with asphalt and is easy to ride on.
