Tonight, I went to Hachi Fu Sukiyaki in Prince Edward, and the quality of the meat was truly excellent. There were many different types of wagyu to choose from. We went with the full-blood wagyu and the wagyu beef short rib. The marbling was beautifully even, and just looking at it was already enticing. The server first used a piece of beef fat to grease the pan, then had us cook the meat ourselves. The beef was tender and smooth, with a rich, aromatic flavor — it definitely wasn't just "all looks and no substance." The sukiyaki broth was just the right level of sweetness, and dipping the meat in the egg mixture made it even silkier. The overall presentation was thoughtful, and both the portion size and appearance were good. As for the side dishes — though not the main event — there were various vegetables and glass noodles. They absorbed the broth nicely, balancing out the richness of the meal. The biggest plus of the whole meal was the high quality of the meat. Unlike some places where you just get big chunks of fat, this place had a good balance of lean and fatty — you can really taste the difference. If you’re someone who loves high-quality meat and wants a satisfying Japanese sukiyaki meal, this place is worth a try. Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Tried their Kansai-style Wagyu Sukiyaki and it was a treat! Went for the “Meat Quest” set ($288) featuring Wagyu Hanging Tender – super beefy, bouncy, and packed with flavour. Best decision? Upgrading to A5 Saga Wagyu (+$238 for 100g) – insane marbling, melts in your mouth, rich buttery creaminess. Totally worth it. Ended with Inaniwa Udon (+$22) – chewy, soaks up all that reduced sukiyaki broth like a dream. The cozy Japanese wood-themed interior adds to the experience. High-quality beef flown from Japan, no need to go to HK Island for legit sukiyaki. Taste: 4/5 Value: 3.5/5 Recommend: Yes! Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
