My first visit to Sushi Kami was an unforgettable experience, thanks to my friend, a longtime patron who has been raving about it for years. We were treated to an exceptional Omakase experience, skillfully prepared by head chef Chiharu-San. As I mentioned that I was visiting from Auckland, Chiharu-San shared that he has lived and worked in Melbourne, just a couple of hours away by plane. He also spoke about his experiences in Osaka and Hong Kong, and how all of these have shaped his craft in Japanese cuisine. Each dish was a perfect balance of freshness and flavor, with Chiharu-San taking the time to share fascinating details about the seasonal fish we were enjoying — where it came from and what made it so special. The attention to detail in every aspect of the meal made it feel like a culinary journey, offering not just incredible food, but also a lesson in the art of sushi. I’m already looking forward to returning the next time I’m in Hong Kong. Sharing a couple of photos out of many. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $500+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
